There are no sponsored meals on Saturday but a box lunch can be ordered from the Hilton at a cost of $10 for Saturday – to pre-order a box lunch: access your synod registration; go to the “sponsored meal” page; order the lunch you prefer; pay for it with a credit card. The packets to be picked up at individual hotels will have information about local restaurants. Vendors are available within the Civic Center.

Dee: Hello. I’m interested in the UCC’s Dis. Ministries gathering w/John Hockenberry as speaker. I’m having trouble at the site figuring out where to get info. re: location, cost, etc. I’m esp. interested in knowing if attendance is limited to members of your denom. I’m an Amer. Baptist pastor’s wife and long-time disabilities advocate.
Thanks,
Evelyn C.
Thanks for asking, Evelyn. First, you are welcome. This is part of the United Church of Christ General Synod that will meet in Hartford, Connecticut,June 22-26. For more information about GS, visit www.ucc.org. Link General Synod. This particular Synod is a special celebration for our denomination. As far as I know, the Saturday celebration, Synod in the City, is open. Certainly the Disabilities Ministries is open and you are welcome. I believe there is a daily registration fee.
We will have an ongoing exhibit as well as a time for persons with disabilities and other supporters to gather. Because the schedule activities is still shaping, specific plans remain fluid.
Updates will be given on this web page. However, you might also contact the UCC DM office at 866.822.8224 x3838.
