why is it taking so long to get A2A going within UCC conferences and other ministry settings? I live in northern California and in the 4 years since the resolution was adopted I have heard nothing about it!

Our church has done much to over a long time support a now adult with autism who is language and speech impaired but choses to attend and is supported in attending weekly services by the staff at a small group home in the area. I have always wondered if there is president to modify the confirmation process and celebrate this persons ongoing committment to and participation in our church family. Do you have experience with this and any resources that I could use to advocate such a process for our friend who truly is a part of our church family and I believe should be recognized as a member if he and his family and his advocates choose given our outreach to him with suggestions for a modified process.
